Red Chutney for Dosa / Idly (Chamandhi) | Spicy Red Coconut Chutney

I always enjoy eating this Spicy Red Coconut Chutney when ever i make idlis,infact this chutney is also eaten as a side dish along with rice and other dishes.

Serve this with idlis,vadas,uttapams,paniyarams,rice or mix it in dosa batter for spicy dosa, the choice is yours.It is mouthwatering.

If you like something "hot" for your South Indian Breakfast then this is a must try !!

for the spice mix blend all these ingredients to a paste
coconut 1/2 cup
onion cut half
yogurt 1 cup
kashmiri red chili 3
red chili 1 or 2 tsp(its upto you)
ginger small piece
garlic 2
 Blend everything together adding salt to taste...then make a tempering
chana daal 1 tsp
mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
curry leaf 4/5
add the coconut paste to this and cook till semi dry..do not dry it completely


dig in !
